Swimming Coloring Page

Here are five swimming coloring pages that are designed to be used in the classroom.  There are also activity ideas beneath each page.

Activity Ideas:

1. The woman in this swimming coloring page is diving into a swimming pool.  She is swinging her arms back to get ready.  Why is she doing that?  Do you do that when you jump?

2. What is she wearing on her head?  Why do you thing she is wearing that?  What other things do people wear on their heads?  What are they for? Possible examples are safety helmets, sun hats and hair nets.

Activity Idea:

1.This woman is swimming.  She has her eyes closed and her arm raised.  How do we move our body when we swim?  Is there more than one way to swim?   How many different ways of swimming can you think of?

2. Animals swim differently to us.  How does a turtle swim?  How does a dog swim?  How does a duck swim?

Activity Idea:

Imagine that this man is swimming in the ocean and he has seen a shark.  His mouth and eyes are open wide in front.  He is now swimming really hard.  Look at how the water is all churned up around him.  What parts of his body is moving?  What does he do so that he goes faster?
