1. Matching Punctuation Pairs

This game is designed for 2 to 6 players.

Students are asked to match a simple sentence with a missing punctuation mark.

Deal 6 cards to each player and leave the rest in a pile in the middle.

Before beginning any players that can match a sentence with a punctuation mark places that pair in front of them.
The first player then picks up a card from the pile in the middle.

If that player can match a sentence with a punctuation mark the pair is placed in front of them.

The player continues to pick up cards until a match cannot be made.

The player must then end their turn by choosing a card from their hand to discard.

Use the discarded cards to replenish the pile in the middle.

Play continues in a clockwise direction until all the cards are gone.

The player with the most pairs wins.

2. Punctuation Memory Rules

This game is designed for 2-6 players.

Students match sentences with missing punctuation marks in a twist on the classic game of memory.

Place all the cards spread out face down on the table.

Players take turns turning over two cards, clearly showing them to the other players.

If the two cards are a match (a sentence and the punctuation it needs) the player keeps the cards in a pile in front of them.

The player continues to pick up cards until a match cannot be made.

Play continues in a clockwise direction until all the cards are gone.

The player with the most pairs wins.
