Compound Nouns

Compound nouns are created by joining two words together.

This can be done in three ways.

1) Joined – haircut bathroom, rainfall, input, lookout, toothbrush

2) Separated – water tank, full moon, real estate, post office, light year

3) Hyphenated – mother-in-law, dry-cleaning, jack-in-the-box, go-between
